ORXSTRA

Creating a bold and distinct wordmark and icons for a company pushing the boundaries of art & fashion.

ORXSTRA is an emerging art & fashion design company founded by Alexander Mcleod and Tala Kamea, focusing on jewelry, textiles, and art. Puncture developed the wordmark and icons for their brand with the goal of reflecting their bold and innovative designs. The structure of the wordmark, combined with the icons derived from traditional musical notation, is indicative of ORXSTRA’s expressive & stylish approach to design.

Flipper‘s Roller Boogie Palace

Developing both consistent and bespoke branded flyers for social media & print.

Flipper’s is an eccentric and historic roller skating rink with a full-time location in London, UK and a summer takeover at the Rockefeller Centre in NYC. We worked on expanding the visual identity for both locations, and also developing fun custom designs for special event flyers. This included both weekly lineups and individual events.

UofT Islam In the City: Islam in the Post Colony

UofT Institute of Islamic Studies releases an issue of a publication each year called Islam In the City and this year the articles focused on living as a Muslim in a post-colonial world.

This special edition of Islam in the City was born out of a desire to understand Islamic identity and culture through a postcolonial lens as taught by Professor Nada Moumtaz at the Department for the Study of Religion. From exploring the influence of Islamic culture on the music of Hip Hop legends such as Mos Def, to dissecting the colonial legacies in Canada, this magazine opens the doors to understanding Islamic culture and its manifestations like never before. The visual theme of the magazine revolves around the feeling of limbo–an existence between two realities.
